Why Local Care Work exists

A letter from George, Local Care Work founder ✍️

Dear Future Partner,

I'm George Cox, Co-founder & CEO of Local Care Work.

My education recruitment journey began in 2014, working for a large recruitment agency following a number of years working within public sector recruitment.

Immediately I was drawn to how much of a difference a supply agency can make on the lives of the students and the staff who wish to work in the schools. I very quickly learned that working in education is a calling and you need to have the right person in the right environment to give the young people the best education possible.

I became very passionate about offering the best service I could whilst working for that agency and progressed from a recruitment consultant to an executive consultant working with over 40 schools.

Following a number of years working for a number or large agencies, I felt 2 things:

1. There should be a different and more cost effective way of assisting local schools.

2. There was a national shortage of qualified / unqualified teaching staff who were not truly valued in the supply market.

And so, in June 2022, I created my first local agency called EECS, this specifically helped schools in the South Essex Area.

Local Education was born off the premise that as a local agency we can assist schools by not only recruiting teachers and staff who live locally but also upskilling the local people with quality training giving the schools a new pool of staff who are truly passionate about their local community.

At Local Education we are passionate about offering extremely competitive pay rates but keeping our charge below the market average. We have by found using the combination of technology, quality training & passionate local people, we can keep our overheads lower and offer you the best staff available at a fair rate.

As the CEO of Local Education, I am truly passionate about giving our young people the best education possible, offering schools the best service and making sure we are always looking to improve what we offer.

I understand that due to financial constraints that a supply agency is an unfortunate necessary evil, as schools cannot have numerous staff available whos amount of work can vary from day to day.

Due to this I understand few things:

- Schools need a partner who is passionate about offering staff who are an extension of your team, rather than a different face every day.

- Consistency is key to the education of children and how a supply staff member who does not have a true passion for education can affect a young persons education.

That is why Local Education strives to be the agency which makes a difference.
